This website has moved

You probably didn’t notice, but this website has moved from a US based hosting provider to an Australian hosting provider. A year ago when the Australian dollar was almost at parity with the US dollar it was really cheap to host websites overseas, but now with the dollar much lower, it’s become pretty much the same price to host in Australia. So I decided to invest in Australia instead. At least the money might help somebody in Australia to stay in employment over the next year.

Openoffice 3

I didn’t notice but Open Office 3 is out now. I suppose I was too busy moving from Brisbane to Sydney to notice. I haven’t tried it yet. I’m very curious to see how it goes opening those annoying office 2007 documents, which I can’t currently open properly with open office 2.4. http://www.openoffice.org/

Find cheap hardware – Static ICE

My friend (Anderson) introduced me to this website some time ago and I thought that I would tell you all about it. It’s basically a search engine to find the cheapest price for hardware. I’ve used it quite a few times and saved a fortune. http://www.staticice.com.au/index.html

James Bond – Or should I say James Boring

Quantum of Solace

Quantum of Solace

I saw James Bond (Quantum of Solace) last Friday night and I must say I don’t think it’s the best James Bond ever – by far. If you haven’t seen the previous JB (Casino Royale) movie or can’t remember it, you should before seeing, as there were alot of references in the movie. I’m going to give it 4/10. I’m hard to please.

Fedora 10 is out!

Fedora 10 is finally out! I’ve been waiting for this for some time now. I note these improvements: ext4 filesystem support, glitch-free audio and better support for remote controls (release notes –> http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f10/en_US/). It’s just what the doctor ordered for getting my mythtv server to perform better than ever before. I’m going to take the opportunity to upgrade from 32-bit Fedora 9 to 64-bit Fedora 10. Go here to download it –> http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora.html. I recommend using the bittorrent to download.
